Personally, I have tried to switch to a number of other browsers, but as I have dug too deep into Google Chrome’s features and ecosystem, switching has caused a lot of inconvenience and compromise. I don’t hate other browsers and I’m not saying Chrome is better, I really like a lot of their innovative features, but as I’ve had to go back to Chrome many times, I’d rather just stay with Chrome
I miss the old Firefox. I was an avid Firefox user when it was competing for IE’s market share. When Chrome came along it changed the game so much that I eventually had to switch, but I still have a place in my heart for Firefox. The problem was that they kept playing catch-up with Chrome, so much so that they would even do stupid things like ditch their normal versioning system and immediately mimic Chrome’s stupid full version number – every little update. It’s starting to feel like a shame. I still think it offers better security than Chrome, and it’s not motivated by a perpetual desire to track you, but I definitely think it’s lost its soul because it’s losing out to Chrome. i think the fact that this video doesn’t even mention Firefox as an option, and doesn’t push the LibreWolf branch, says it all.
